PET and Bonded Polyester Strapping

Make the right choice

– for your shipment goods

While steel strapping is generally used for particularly heavy, sharp-edged or hot objects, the somewhat less tension-resistant but much cheaper plastic strap is sufficient for the majority of packaging goods.
In this case, the choice is between PP strapping and PET strapping.

However, textile strapping, especially bonded polyester strapping, is often a very sensible alternative to other plastic strapping.

Hotmelt

Bonded polyester fibres

Product properties:

  • Suitable for sensitive and smooth surfaces
  • High elongation and recoil stresses
  • Absorption of dynamic transport stresses
  • Joining/closure with metal buckles

Composite

Bonded polyester filaments with PP plastic sheathing

Product properties:

  • High tear resistance
  • Low elongation
  • Resistance to common oils, caustics and chemical solvents
  • Suitable for rough or sharp-edged surfaces thanks to high abrasion protection
  • Joining/closure with metal buckles

Bale compression band

Product properties:

  • Properties of the Hotmelt strapping
  • Smaller outside diameter
  • Shape and layout adapted for balers
  • Joining/closure by simple knotting

Textile band

woven polyester strapping

A textile strapping consists of high-tensile, interwoven polyester threads. The 13-mm-wide strapping band is notable for its high tensile strength of up to 3,800 N, which is far superior to that of PP or PET strapping band.

Product properties:

  • Very high tear resistance
  • Low elongation
  • Heat-resistant up to 200 °C
  • Suitable for use on partly sharp-edged surfaces
  • Joining/closure with roughened metal buckles

Woven textile strapping is mainly used in the construction materials, furniture and machine building industries to secure sharp-edged or heavy packages. Textile strapping is also used in international sea container transport.

In combination with a high-quality band tensioner and matching metal clamps, you will ensure that your goods are permanently attached to your load carriers in a reliable and secure manner. Using a practical dispenser trolley will allow you to also stay mobile when strapping your pallets.
